Staff at the Heidelberg Hospital took a well-deserved break from their busy schedules on February 11 to focus on their health and well-being during a lively Wellness Wednesday programme that combined fitness, fun and fellowship.
The highlight of the event was an aerobics session that encouraged movement, stress relief, and healthy lifestyle habits among healthcare workers.
Employees from various departments joined in enthusiastically, creating a positive atmosphere where colleagues could connect, recharge, and support one another.
Sandile Ramothibe from the hospital’s Food Service Unit described the session as a refreshing and morale-boosting experience.
“Working in a healthcare environment can be physically and emotionally demanding, so having time to focus on our well-being was really appreciated.
“The aerobic session helped us release stress, increase our energy levels, and brought colleagues together in a way that strengthens teamwork and positivity.
“We are very grateful to Chill beverages, Inhle beverages and Score energy drinks for their generous support. Their contribution made the day even more enjoyable and showed the community the values and supported the work we do,” he said.
Ramothibe added that initiatives like Wellness Wednesday are part of a broader commitment to staff wellness, recognising that supporting both physical and mental health is essential for maintaining morale and performance in high-pressure healthcare settings.
