Lesedi Local Municipality confirms continued water supply for all Heidelberg areas

All Heidelberg areas are receiving water, with most reservoirs maintaining good supply levels, though residents are urged to use water sparingly as pressure and storage levels vary across the system.

Heidelberg residents are continuing to receive water across all areas, despite varying reservoir levels, according to the latest status update issued on February 23 by Lesedi Local Municipality.

The municipality reported that intake pressure from Rand Water is currently at 350kPa, indicating a stable inflow into the local system. Reservoir levels, however, differ across the network.

Heidelberg Command Reservoir is sitting at 70%, while Emmasdal Reservoir is at 80%. Both are classified as providing a good water supply.

Rensburg Reservoir is currently at 35%, which places it under a fair supply classification.

Municipal officials noted that while all areas are receiving water, some communities may experience low pressure due to these varying levels.

Residents have been urged to help maintain system stability and ensure consistent distribution across Heidelberg and the surrounding areas.

Community members experiencing water-related issues are encouraged to contact the municipal call centre on 016 466 1901.
