The Heidelberg SPCA is appealing to residents to consider adopting cats and dogs currently in its care and giving them a loving and permanent home.
The animal welfare organisation is encouraging community members who are considering getting a pet to visit the SPCA and meet the animals available for adoption.
The initiative aims to help animals in need find safe, caring and suitable homes while giving them a second chance at a happy life.
The SPCA is also urging prospective pet owners to consider adoption rather than purchasing animals, while reminding the community that pet ownership comes with a long-term responsibility to provide proper care, food, shelter and veterinary attention.
