Heidelberg Hospital will host its annual Pink Drive cancer screening event on September 8, offering mammograms, Pap smears, clinical breast examinations and PSA testing to promote early detection and cancer awareness.

Heidelberg Hospital, in partnership with the Pink Drive Initiative, will host its annual cancer screening event on September 8 from 08:00.

The initiative aims to promote cancer awareness and encourage community members to prioritise regular screening and early detection.

A range of screening services will be available during the event, including mammograms for women over 40, Pap smears for women aged 20 and above, and clinical breast examinations for women and men of all ages.

Men over the age of 40 will also have access to PSA testing as part of cancer screening services.

Mammograms are available by appointment only, while walk-ins are welcome for the other services.

Residents wishing to book a service can call, SMS or WhatsApp 078 804 1301. They are required to provide their name, ID number, and contact number, and to use “Pink Drive” as the reference when making a booking.

The event is part of efforts by Heidelberg Hospital and the Pink Drive Initiative to improve access to cancer screening services and raise awareness about the importance of early detection.

Community members are encouraged to make use of the opportunity and prioritise their health by getting screened.
