Heidelberg Rugby’s successful season has earned Mario Jordaan and Louis Potgieter provincial recognition after the Berge coaching duo were appointed to the Valke Platteland management team for the Noordvaal Platteland Week in September.

Heidelberg Rugby Club’s strong 2026 season has been recognised with the appointment of two of its coaches to the Valke Rugby Platteland management team.

Mario Jordaan and Louis Potgieter have been selected to form part of the coaching staff for the Valke Platteland side that will compete at the Noordvaal Platteland Week in Modimolle (Nylstroom) from September 23 to 26.

Jordaan will take up the role of coach, while Potgieter has been appointed technical coach.

Their selection represents a significant achievement for both coaches and is a further acknowledgement of their contributions to Heidelberg Rugby.

The appointments come after a successful campaign for the Berge, who finished second in the Merlin League after a season in which they consistently challenged for a top-four spot. Both Jordaan and Potgieter have been instrumental in the club’s progress, contributing to the team’s preparation, development and overall performance throughout the season.

Their inclusion in the Valke Platteland setup provides an opportunity to represent Heidelberg Rugby at a broader level while bringing their experience and knowledge to the provincial side.
