Heidelberg Bowling Club’s Werner Schipper and Karl Strauss earn selection to 2026 EKB Colts Team

Heidelberg Bowling Club bowlers Werner Schipper and Karl Strauss have been selected for the 2026 EKB Colts Team 1, where they will represent their club at the annual Ekurhuleni Bowls Colts and Fillies Tournament at Benoni Country Club in September.

The Heidelberg Bowling Club will have strong representation at this year’s Ekurhuleni Bowls Colts and Fillies Tournament after two of its standout players, Werner Schipper and Karl Strauss, were selected for the 2026 EKB Colts Team 1.

The announcement was made by the Ekurhuleni Bowls Executive and Selectors, who named the squads that will compete in the annual tournament at Benoni Country Club on September 12 and 13.

Schipper has been appointed as skip of the Colts Team 1, while Strauss will take up the third position, underlining the selectors’ confidence in the Heidelberg pair’s skill, consistency and leadership on the greens.
