Nigel Gymnastics trio qualify to represent Ekurhuleni at Gauteng Provincial competition

Three Nigel Gymnastics senior girls have earned Ekurhuleni colours after impressive performances at the district competition on August 21 and 22. Liezl Maritz, Sinentokozo Mpulo and Joanika Du Plessis will now represent the district at the upcoming Gauteng Provincial competition.

Nigel Gymnastics’ senior girls delivered impressive performances at the Ekurhuleni District Gymnastics Competition, held recently.

The competition provided an opportunity for the gymnasts to showcase their skills against some of the district’s best, with three Nigel Gymnastics athletes earning Ekurhuleni colours.

Liezl Maritz, Sinentokozo Mpulo and Joanika Du Plessis have all qualified to represent Ekurhuleni at the upcoming Gauteng Provincial Gymnastics Competition.

Joanika competed in Level 7, producing a strong performance across the apparatus.

She finished third on Floor, while securing second-place finishes on Beam and Uneven Bars. Her consistent performance earned her third place overall in her level and age group. Liezl Maritz also had an outstanding competition in Level 4.

She placed third on Bars, second on Vault, and first on Floor. Her strong results earned her first place overall in her level.

The achievements are a significant milestone for the young gymnasts, who will now turn their attention to the Gauteng Provincial competition as they prepare to compete against top gymnasts from across the province.
