Heidelberg Hospital introduces new intern doctors and healthcare staff through formal induction

The Heidelberg Hospital welcomed a new intake of healthcare professionals on January 5, strengthening services for local communities.

The Heidelberg Hospital welcomed a new intake of intern doctors, community service practitioners, nurses and therapeutic services professionals on January 5 during an induction programme at the hospital.

The induction, co-ordinated by the hospital’s human resource development (HRD) unit, marked the beginning of an important chapter for the newly appointed professionals, who will be vital to strengthening healthcare services in Heidelberg and surrounding communities.

HRD manager Busi Dube, responsible for overseeing the induction, said the programme ensures that new staff feel supported, prepared and aligned with the hospital’s values from the start.

“We are honoured to welcome our intern doctors, community service practitioners, nurses and therapeutic services professionals through this formal induction programme.

“As you begin this new phase of your professional journey, we encourage you to embrace continuous learning, dedication and compassionate care.

“This induction is not only about understanding systems and policies, but about understanding the responsibility we carry towards our patients and the community we serve,” she said.

Dube added that the hospital emphasises professionalism, teamwork and ethical service delivery.

“This is a journey where learning meets service, and where your contributions will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and the community.

“We believe that each one of you has a role to play in strengthening public healthcare and restoring trust and dignity in our health system.”

These new arrivals come at a crucial time, as public healthcare facilities continue to experience high patient demand.
