Bonwelong Primary School celebrates child protection in style

Basic education minister and the ambassador of the people’s republic of china to visit Bonwelong Primary School in Ivory Park.

Donations of school stationery, sports equipment, and water bottles were presented to learners from Bonwelong Primary School in Ivory Park on May 30.

Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of South Africa His Excellency Xiaodong Chen visited the primary to distribute the goods.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane also attended the event.

The Chinese Embassy donated the goods to assist the learners at the school.

The donation from the embassy will significantly aid the school’s most needy learners while also positively impacting their academic journey, according to Chen.

“By giving a child the tools and assistance they require, we want to deliver high-quality education. We consider education to be a key to a better future for everyone.

“Donating essential school supplies helps many families by relieving them of a financial burden that can affect how well-prepared their kids are for school,” said Chen.

Motshekga said the department was appreciative of the donations.

“Thank you to the embassy for their generous donation to our learners. We hope that other schools with impoverished learners can one day benefit from this donations.”
