Krugersdorp High talent in the spotlight at Best of the West Festival

Head of Rugby Francois Botha names three standout players to watch this Easter.

Krugersdorp High School’s head of rugby Francois Botha revealed three standout players to watch at this year’s Best of the West Easter Festival.

• Logan Adam:
Position: Flank
Logan’s nickname among his teammates is ‘Cyborg’ – half man, half machine.
According to Francis, he brings physicality to the team and has massive stamina and tenacity.
“Even if the deck is stacked against him, he will always give 100% all the time. I would describe him as a player that can swing the match in our favour with one line break, one tackle or a crucial steal.”
Achievements:
• 2022 – Selected for the Barbarian team that participated at the Gauteng U15 Sonchini Games and travelled to Italy
• 2023 – Selected for the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) presidential team that participated in the U16 Jeppe Festival
• 2024 – Selected for the Golden Lions U17 team that played in National Week in Bethlehem

• Vuyo Manana:
Position: Flyhalf/ Fullback
“Vuyo is not just a great rugby player, he is an extremely good athlete as well. He is a versatile player with an eye for a gap, possesses speed and quickness on his feet, and is capable of tearing through any defensive line. He also has a reliable kicking boot that can slot it over the posts as far as halfway. His biggest milestone was being selected for the GLRU presidential team that played at the Jeppe U16 Festival.”

• Aobakwe Sebogo:
Position: Wing
“Aobakwe is a wing that knows how to finish and can punish any bad kick with a counterattack. He was the top try scorer in 2024 for the first team. He is also a strong winger, built like a loosie who has great speed. This makes him dangerous on attack and strong on defence.”
Achievements:
• 2024 – Made the final round of Craven Week and GLRU U17 7s trials
