Wife gets touching surprise
Amid reports of the high rate of divorce in the country at the moment, a middle-aged man from Tembisa proved that love conquers all when he organised a surprise birthday party for his wife on Wednesday last week.

When his wife arrived home from work, she was surprised to see family members and friends singing birthday songs before leading her to the sitting room, where a birthday party was about to start.
Ndweleni Makhuvha, a well-known businessman in the area, says he decided to organise a surprise birthday party to remind her that she is the only one in his heart.
“This is Women’s Month, where we have to appreciate the role women played in the struggle for freedom in this country. I also feel honoured to have married a woman of my dreams, and believe you me, we have been together for 13 years,” he said.
His wife Alice, Makhuvha, says she was taken by surprise when she saw a lot of people in the house. “To be honest, I only realised what was happening when I saw the cake,” she said.
When asked how she feels about such a surprise, she said, “It feels good to realise that your husband is your pillar of strength. I thank God for giving me such a wonderful husband.”
By organising such a party, she said her husband is also sending a message to others – that men should also support women during this month.
