IN November Ekurhuleni will launch the Ekurhuleni Investment Centre wherein the Ekurhuleni Aerotropolis Project Office will reside.
The centre is currently being upgraded on the premises of the old Kempton Park Library on the corner of Voortrekker and Monument roads.
Announcing this at the monthly council meeting on Thursday, the executive mayor, Clr Mondli Gungubele, said they would encourage all investors and developers to seize the opportunity presented by the presence of this centre to process their developmental transactions.
The Ekurhuleni Investment Centre has already entered into a cooperation agreement with the Gauteng Investment Centre in Sandton to collaborate in investment facilitation efforts that relate to the development of the Ekurhuleni and Gauteng economies.
“On the other hand, in order to realise the objectives of the Investment and Development Facilitation Strategic Framework and to optimise on the investment inflows, the municipality has commissioned a process to review the following policies: release and acquisition; bulk contribution and investment incentive; and of course the system of delegations. This process is being undertaken in order to empower structures of the metro such as the development facilitation committee to expedite decision making on strategic investment and development projects,” Gungubele said.
