Renowned gospel artist to perform

Tembisa is bracing itself for the long-awaited gospel show by one of South Africa's leading gospel artists, Ntokozo Mbambo.

The renowned gospel song bird, and former lead singer of Joyous Celebration, will perform live at the Dominion Life Cathedral, in Leboeng Section, on November 30.

Mbambo has a vivid sound, which leaves the audience feeling revived. Many will remember her for songs like In the shadow, Ungefaniswe, Mbonge, Lomhlengi Ungubani Na and many more, which are sung in many churches across the country and beyond.

The Umlazi-born Mbambo joined Joyous Celebration at the age of 15 and recorded her debut album “Bambelela” in 2002. Not only has she been a nugget for Joyous Celebration, she also shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin. In 2012, Mbambo recorded her second album, titled Filled.

She worked with her husband, Nqubeko Mbatha, who is a renowned pianist and music director.

The show is expected to draw gospel music lovers, church worship teams, pastors and Christians from in and around Tembisa.

“Mbambo is an inspiration to many lead singers and worshipers in our churches, and she is one of the gifts God has blessed South African churches with. This show has already drawn the attention of people from as far afield as Soweto and the far East Rand,” said Praise Media’s CEO, Lesiba Molokomme.

Tickets for the show are available at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers Hyper stores for R100 and R150. Tickets are also available at Dominion Life Cathedral in Leboeng Section and from Abundant Life Bible Church next to Endulwini Primary School for R100. Tickets at the door will cost R130.

The doors will open at 5pm and the show starts at 6pm.
