Teen wins big in beauty pageant

Ms Happiness Baloyi won the Miss Tembisa Teen Beauty Contest which was held at the Lord Khanyile Hall

Ms Happiness Baloyi won the Miss Tembisa Teen Beauty Contest which was held at the Lord Khanyile Hall on Saturday.

Ms Samantha Maswanganyi and Ms Zanele Mndaweni were chosen as the first and second princess respectively.

It was one of the toughest Miss Tembisa Teen pageants ever, as 16 girls from Tembisa and the surrounding areas tried hard to convince the judges that they had what it takes to win the crown.

Local artists added flavour to the atmosphere by performing their latest songs.

By winning the competition, Ms Baloyi walked away with prizes worth more than R10 000.

The managing director of SYDI, Philly Mhlongo said the competition went according to plan.

“Now that we are done with the Miss Teen competition, we are now focussing on the Miss Tembisa pageant, which will be held at the Rabasotho Hall.
