Free health care for veterans
Currently veterans are transported from anywhere in Ekurhuleni to the clinic
EKURHULENI metro will provide health care cards to military liberation struggle heroes.
The struggle veterans in Ekurhuleni have welcomed news that they would receive these cards by February.
These health access cards will give them an opportunity to consult identified private doctors and specialists.
Speaking to the veterans at Germiston Lake December 19, Ekurhuleni’s health and social development MMC, Makhosazana Twala-Maluleke, told veterans that preserving their health meant preserving the wisdom needed by this generation.
“In February the first 250 cards will be issued to veterans by the executive mayor. This is in addition to the dedicated services provided to veterans by the Reiger Park Clinic,” Twala-Maluleke said.
Currently veterans are transported from anywhere in Ekurhuleni to the clinic.
“In our efforts to extend the health service, we have agreements with about 14 doctors in Ekurhuleni, who are ready to accept the health access cards and claim the expenses from the municipality,” she continued.
