Local reverend praised for good work
Prominent members of the community and the Baptist Church attended the fundraising party of Reverend Makgale Mapheto at the Mpho Baptist Church.
Even though the function started late, members of the community were seen flocking to the church in high spirits. A moment of silent was observed in honour of Nelson Mandela.
Talking about the good things the church has done for the community of Tembisa under the leadership of the 87-year-old reverend, Ms Nonhlanhla Skhosana said the church is a fountain of life for the people of Tembisa.
“I am a practical example of the church’s good work. I don’t know my biological father and things were tough at home. I was raised by the pastorand he treated me as his own daughter. He paid for my studies from his own pocket,” she said.
The church’s choir entertained the congregation and members of the community throughout the function.
