SEVENTEEN Rand Water Academy (RWA) graduates will undergo the second phase of their 36 months of training at ERWAT (East Rand Water Care Company).
The water quality generalists trained for 18 months at RWA.
Asief Alli, RWA programme manager, said: “Rand Water, through the establishment of the academy, aims to play a pivotal role in the development of professionals within the water and sanitation sector. This will be achieved by capacitating and the empowering of young graduates to become professionals.”
Alli said that it was a rigorous training programme for the graduates the past 18 months and the placement of these graduates was a major milestone in the history of the academy.
The role of water quality generalists is to ensure that quality measures are maintained and accurately provide scientific advice on both water and waste water quality issues to those in the operations sector of the municipality.
