The case of a 27-year-old sports teacher who allegedly raped seven boys at a local primary school was postponed to May 2.

The suspect appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday last week, when the case was postponed.

Masilo Moyabo is also facing two charges of showing two girls pornographic movies.

All the victims are aged between 11 and 12. During the bail application on Wednesday last week, the state prosecutor read statements made by the victims under oath.

The first victim, who could not be named because he is a minor, said Mr Moyabo asked him to stay behind after school. “He said I must accompany him to Oakmoor, but he took me to a bushy area next to the Oakmoor train station. He showed me phonographic movies, but later undressed and raped me,” he said.

Another victim said he was raped inside the school. “I was walking past the school when teacher Moyabo called me into the school yard. He took me to the store room and ordered me to undress. After undressing me, he pushed me to the floor and started raping me. I felt terrible pain when he penetrated me from the back. I asked him to stop, but he told me to shut up. When he was done, he told me to never tell anyone if I don’t want to die,” he said.

The third victim said he and his friend were taken to Tshepiso Park, where they were shown pornographic movies before being instructed to undress.

“He started with my friend. When he was going up and down, I could see my friend was in pain. He then grabbed me and put me down, and also raped me. I asked him what he was doing and he told me to keep quiet and look down,” he said.

The state prosecutor also presented three letters from three different doctors, detailing the injuries to the raped boys.

The investigating officer, Constable Sepakela, asked the court to refuse bail, saying the suspect is facing serious offences.
