Shangri-La raise R26 000 for CANSA

The school raised the money through its annual Colourthon event

SHANGRI-LA Academy raised over R26 000 for CANSA through its annual Colourthon.

Every year, during the first term, the entire Shangri-La Academy, from grade R-12, raise money for CANSA.

The school’s Colourthon is similar to the CANSA Shavathon, except the students only colour-spray their hair instead of having the option to shave it too.

“We use the slogan “Show you care, colour-spray your hair!” Each student pays to have his or her hair sprayed in one of the many interesting designs the teachers come up with. Some teachers even allow the students to spray each others’ hair,” Magriet Stander of Shangri-La said.

Students are also charged a small fee to wear civvies on the day and all the proceeds go to CANSA.
