Mr ADT teaches learners about ‘baddies and buddies’
The show teaches the learners on safety in the home and out on the street, and is hosted by well known Joburg entertainer, Darrin McDowall
MR ADT from ADT Security company dropped in at Amazing Kids Pre-school in Van Riebeeck Park to teach the learners about safety in the home and out on the streets.
The show, called the Baddies and Buddies, focuses on equipping the kids with safety skills such as what to do when a “baddie” enters your home and which numbers to call for help.
The short one-man play is hosted by Johannesburg entertainer, Darrin “Mr ADT” McDowall, which gives it a fun and exciting twist for little kids to enjoy.
The children screamed and shouted with joy while learning about bullying, home robberies, keeping their belongings safe, being alert at all times by paying attention to their surroundings, how to get help from police and how to use the panic button; “stranger danger’ and respecting our fellow South Africans.
Darrin also speaks about personal safety, including not putting pills or anything in children’s mouths without asking their parents first, dangers in the kitchen, electricity safety – not touching or pulling plugs, not playing with fire, matches, lighters or candles, the danger of playing with guns and how to behave around dogs and home invasion.
The fun-filled show has been successfully rolled out in Gauteng and in the Western Cape to rave reviews from both teachers and scholars.
