Local runner organises race

Fomer Tembisa running sensation, Sello 'Tembisa Express' Ramaloko has organised the Tembisa Trial Run Race.

The race will be held on June 29. The race will start at the Tembisa Golf Course, which is situated next to Ebuhleni Park, and will begin at 8am.

Ramaloko is also calling on residents to donate old running shoes and t-shirts before the race.

“We would like to use the donated items to help children and athletes who are in need in Tembisa. We are calling on all the youth in Tembisa to come out in big numbers for the race. All finishers will receive medals and goody-bags,” he said.

Entry forms for the race are available at the Meroko Gym, in Tsenelong Section, and also at Setloana Primary School.

Ramaloko, who was an excellent runner in his time, said he learnt a lot from some of the athletes who participated in this year’s Comrades Marathon.

“Even though I was helping runners during the race, I managed to speak to the Russian twins, Olesya and Elena Nurgalieva, and Bongamuso Mthembu about their preparations for the race. I will share my experience with local runners in Tembisa,” he said.

For more information, phone Ramaloko on 073 573 2154.
