Local team wins tournament

The match was played at Bokamoso High School on Sunday.

Both teams displayed good netball skills from the first whistle, but the local ladies proved their mettle in the first 10 minutes. They had their opponents in trouble whenever they were in possession of the ball. New Generations’ lethal striker, Dimakatso Mphahlele, was also the top goal scorer. She was scoring at will and it was no surprise when she walked away with the top goal scorer award.

After the game, she said scoring goals is no longer an issue for her.

“I have scored so many goals that I no longer celebrate after scoring. To me, it is just a talent from the Almighty. The problem is, we do not have a netball league, otherwise I would be playing overseas by now,” she said.
