Barcelona trounces Magevenga 3-0

If soccer was boxing, the referee should have stopped the game between Barcelona FC and Magevenga FC at half-time.

This would have saved Magevenga FC from further humiliation when the two teams played at the Temong Sports Grounds on Saturday.

It was clear from the start that Barcelona was too strong for the local lads.

Barcelona FC opened their account only seven minutes into the game when Tshepiso Mabilo headed in a well-timed cross from the left flank. Magevenga FC tried hard to equalise, but when pressurising their more-fancied opponents, they left themselves open at the back, giving their opponents space to counter-attack.

Mabilo completed his brace when he received a through-pass from the middle of the park before outrunning the defence and beating the ‘keeper from close range. It was 2-0 at the break.

Barcelona decided to teach their opponents a free soccer lesson in the second half. They toyed with their opponents for the better part of he second half, sometimes touching the ball for more than three three minutes while their opponents were left chasing shadows.

They scored their third goal in the dying minutes through Cassius Marakalala. The final score was 3-0.
