Tembisa slays Giant Killers
The goalkeeper of Tembisa FC, Mfundo Skiti, became a hero when he saved two penalties and helped his team win the U/15 top eight competition finals.
Tembisa FC beat Giant Killers 4-2 at the Temong Grounds on Sunday.
The two teams played to a goalless draw and the game had to be decided by penalties.
Giant Killers started the game as the hot favourites as they have the cream of local young footballers in Tembisa.
As usual, their reliable all-rounder Gigs Zwane was marshalling the defence and managed to keep the opposition’s strikers at bay for most of the game.
On the other hand, Tembisa FC had Ngwatyu at the back and the youngster showed great skill in tackling strikers without resorting to hard tackles.
Killers could have finished the game in the dying minutes when Zakhele Khumalo received the ball with only the ‘keeper to beat. Unfortunately, the burly striker’s shot went wide.
