Metro transforms accounts administration processes

To ensure service providers are on board with changes, the finance department hosted road shows in Alberton, Springs and Germiston.

The metro invited current and prospective service providers to these events aimed at clarifying the metro’s procurement processes, explaining changes implemented in recent months to increase compliance with legislation and improve the management of service providers’ accounts.

One of the changes to be implemented is a move from payment on date of invoice to payment on date of statement.

This will grant the municipality enough time to reconcile accounts of service providers and collect outstanding invoices from various departments and central procuring offices.
