Three titles for Motshana FC

Motshana U/13 FC won the championship title for the Ekurhuleni Women's Festival soccer tournament.

The tournament was held at the Elsberg Sports Grounds in Boksburg recently and Motshana FC were awarded a trophy and gold medals.

The team beat Daveyton FC 1-0 in the finals.

To qualify for the finals, the Tembisa-based Motshana defeated the Tsakane team 11-0.

Some of the team’s players were selected for, and represented the Ekurhuleni region, in the Provincial Women’s Festival soccer tournament for U/13.

They were joined by other U/13 soccer players from other teams around Ekurhuleni to make a squad.

They won the first title after they played against West Rand, Tshwane, Sedibeng, and Johannesburg in a two-day U/13 soccer tournament.

The matches were played at the Mamelodi Central Grounds over the weekend.

They were again awarded a trophy and gold medals.

Before Motshana U/13 FC could play in the Ekurhuleni region, they played in the Gloria Hlalele Primary School Ladies soccer tournament and finished first.

The tournament was played at the Esiqongweni Sports Grounds.

They were awarded kit, a trophy and gold medals.

The team coach, Lordwick Motshana, said he was extremely excited to have achieved three championship titles in a month.

“It was their month and they played well. I am proud to have such a dedicated team with strong players. I want to encourage them and take them to professional games where they will be exposed to the talent currently present in football. I have seen how the players have a love for soccer as their performance was outstanding in all the matches they played,” he said.
