RENELL Bosman of Glen Marais recently won the Christa Roodt Memorial Award (Inland).
The Life Health Care Group awards one inland and one coastal nurse to honour their dedication and contribution to the company to improve nursing care.
Bosman, who qualified as a nurse in 1980, said her speciality lied in childcare. “God led me in this direction.”
Bosman, who was the facilitator of the neonatal intensive care unit and the paediatric unit at Arwyp for 10 years, said this award was the highest award The Life Health Care Group would give to a nurse to recognise her contribution to the company.
She developed numerous new documents for maternity units, neonatal ICU and paediatric ICU, which involves improvement of trained nurses in practical nursing care. She also compiled the continues professional development modules for maternity for the Life Health Care Group.
She is currently working at Life The Glynnwood in Benoni as a clinical training specialist in the maternity unit, neonatal ICU, paediatric ICU and paediatric unit.
This 20-year resident of Kempton Park said she was amazed when they announced her name as the winner.
