Gunners wallop Tlamatlama 8-1
Kopanong Gunners FC taught Tlamatlama Revolution FC a free soccer lesson before beating them 8-1 in a one-sided game played at Isithama section on Sunday.
Even though the Gunners started the game at a slow pace, they made the lads from Tlamatama look like aged tourists.
The Gunners FC players opened their account when their nimble-footed midfielder, Thabo “China” Thahane, who was at his best on the day, dribbled past three opponents before passing the ball to Wiggdon Ramakgoname, who looped the ball over the advancing goalkeeper into the net.
The Gunners scored three more goals through Survive Qhwesha (a brace) and Tshepo Lemau, before the break.
In the second half, the Gunners turned the game into a practice session. At times, they controlled the ball for more than five minutes without the opponents touching it. They scored four more goals through Lehlohonolo Seeko and Thabiso Muwasa, who both scored a brace each.
After the game, the Gunners’ best player on the day, Thabo “China” Thahane, said they are calling on the best U/15 teams in Tembisa to challenge them.
“To be honest, Tlamatlama FC is not in the same class with us. We need strong teams that can give us a challenge,” he said.
