Beach party in Tembisa

The Tembisa Beach Party turned out to be an event of note and a carnival of celebration for the youth of Tembisa.

As early as 9am on Ocotber 10, the vendors started setting up their stalls for business at the Mehlareng Stadium.

According to the event organiser from Lettads Promotions and Events, Mr Thato Mokoena, the security, sound crew, marshals and hosts were ready for the event.

“The excited youth, full of energy and fun, started entering the stadium at 2pm in party gear and with cooler boxes. The DJ and artist line-up was one thing we all looked forward to, accompanied by the vibrancy of the number one MC Philly The Entertainer. Micasa came onto the stage at 10pm, after some of the local and international DJs like Shimza, USB, Hlathi-Baby and Thabitha, had already set the atmosphere and warmed up the crowd. The hype was on when the award-winning Mafikizolo entered the stage and delivered a hot performance,” he said.

Mr Mokoena said they were happy to announce a good report from the EMPD, SAPS and the stadium caretakers, as there was no damage, robberies or accidents reported.

“We promoted responsible behaviour, that is why no under 18’s were permitted into the venue. Everyone who attended left in one piece, and is already looking forward to the up-coming events. We thank everyone who braved the cold weather and came through to show their support. We are planning on hosting another event before December and all the details will be released in a few week,” he said.
