LBB defeats Springbok FC 4-3

LBB FC defeated Springbok FC 4-3 in an eight-team soccer tournament played at the Winnie Mandela, Zone 8 Sports Grounds on Sunday.

From the first whistle, both teams displayed good spirits but it was LBB’s reliable striker Sammy, who scored a hat-trick 25 minutes into the game.

Springbok FC players absorbed the pressure and started attacking.

They scored through their striker Troy Madibana. At the end of the first half, the score was 3-1.

In the second half, both the teams returned to the field with determination.

Springbok FC fought for an equaliser and scored a second goal through Kelele Madibana. Within minutes, Springbok FC scored again through Troy Madibana, from a corner kick.

In the dying minutes of the game, LBB pushed hard and scored a fourth goal, bringing the score to 4-3.

LBB FC’s coach, Bishop Pitsi, said he was happy to have won the finals of the tournament.

“It was a good game to watch, though my players were relaxed in the second half. We nearly lost it. I am proud that they at least pushed and won the final,” he added.
