5-1 rout for United
Leeds United taught Inter Milan a free soccer lesson before routing them 5-1 in a one-sided Tembisa United Football Association League game played at the Makhulong Stadium on Sunday.
Inter Milan drew first blood in the third minute when Hendrick Maleka received the ball from the left flank and scored from close range.
But Inter Milan’s joy was short-lived as Leeds equalised in the third minute.
The team’s lethal striker, Jabulani Zonke, received a defence-splitting pass from Vincent Nkwanda before dribbling past three defenders and beating the ‘keeper with a low shot.
Zonke and Nkwana scored one each before the break to make the score 3-1 at half time.
In the second half, United’s players started toying with their opponents and at times, shared the ball among themselves for more than three minutes without the opponents touching it.
Samson Ribisi and Kennedy Ramoshala added two more goals to make the scoreline 5-1 at full time.
