Municipal lights are on in the middle of day

The lights have been returned to their normal cycle

THREE residents of Kempton Park complained about street lights and lights in a park being on during the day while load shedding is upon us.

One of them saw a street light burning for four days in a row during the day.

The other street lights that were on, were along Monument Road and lights in a park on Pienaar Avenue.

According to metro spokesman, Themba Gadebe, the street light circuits on Monument Road near Glen Eagle Estate were energized to discourage street light cable theft in the area.

He said a request would be sent to the energy department to return it to its normal cycle.

The lights in the park on the corner of Eland and Pienaar avenues were energized in order to burn down an intermittent cable fault on Pienaar Avenue. “We are still trying to locate the fault but the lights have been returned to the normal cycle.”
