Winning teams rewarded

Abarondoli FC walked away with R1 000, a trophy and gold medals during the prize giving ceremony of the Tembisa Masters Social League (TMSL).

Abarondoli FC beat all the teams that played for the Tembisa Masters Social League (TMSL) Cup Game, played at Mehlareng Stadium on Sunday.

The second runner up, Zamalek FC, walked away with R500 and silver medals.

Genius FC walked away with R4 000 in cash, a trophy and gold medals for being the winners of the Tembisa Masters Social League for 10 consecutive years.

The runner up, National FC, walked away with R2 500 and silver medals, while the second runner up, Kwasa Kwasa FC, walked away with R1 500 and bronze medals.

During the final game of the TMSL Cup, Abarondoli beat Zamalek FC 2-0.

In the first half, Abarondoli opened the scoring through the reliable striker Sfiso Vilakazi, the former player Amazulu FC and Witz University FC player.

He scored after a free-kick pass by Moses Kekana.

Zamalek’s attempts at goal were fruitless in the first half.

In the second half, Sfiso Vilakazi scored a second goal after he received a well-timed passed from Ketsa Moshanyana in the 26th minute. The final score was 2-0.

The organiser and referee, Mr Mandla Yende, said they are happy and thankful the Tembisa Masters Social League went well throughout the year.

“We thank all the teams that participated in the league. We congratulate Genius for retaining the title for 10 consecutive years. We wish all the teams good luck and a merry Christmas and happy New year,” he said.
