New dog training term starts on Saturday

You need to bring along your dog’s up-to-date vaccination certificate reflecting the annual booster as well as rabies

HAVE you recently adopted a new four-legged friend or puppy? Birch Acres Dog Training Club specialises in domestic obedience training as well as training for competition.

If you have a more active or ball-playing hound, why not enrol in agility or flyball classes too, or if you have a dog that likes sniffing out or carrying toys around, sniffer dog training might just interest you and your canine companion.

The new training term starts on Saturday. Registration for puppies (8 weeks to 5 months) is at 10am. Dogs older than five months register for the bridging class at 12.30am.

They also also offer a scholars class to encourage young handlers between the ages of eight to 16 years to bring along and train their dogs. They register at 12.30am too. Fees are R220 for the term of 11 weeks.

You need to bring along your dog’s up-to-date vaccination certificate reflecting the annual booster as well as rabies.
