Household appliance ‘looting party’ comes to abrupt end for burglars

The men were linked to a house burglary that happened on the same street they were arrested on

TWO burglars’ “looting party” came to an end when they were arrested by police on the same street as the house they stole from.

The burglars were still carrying everything they had stolen when they were arrested by Kempton Park SAPS on North Rand Road on January 21 at about 9.50am.

It seemed the two men, both in their 40s, took everything they could possibly carry, including a fridge, computer, printer, computer box, keyboard, telephone, compact discs and a hair dryer.

According to the spokesman for Kempton SAPS, Capt Jethro Mtshali, Const Sello Kobo and another member of the police were patrolling on North Rand Road when they came across the two men, who looked suspicious carrying all these household appliances.

“The men were questioned regarding the items but could not give a reasonable explanation. It was later established the items the suspects were carrying were stolen during a burglary at a house on the same street,” Mtshali said.
