Hospital View held 1-1 draw
Hospital View FC's U/19 team played to a 1-1 draw against Sedibeng Centre FC in the Chincha Sport Festivals Tournament played at the Xubeni Grounds on Sunday.
Both teams attacked each other from the first minute.
Hospital View FC created more opportunities from the midfield, but the strikers failed to punish the opponents who were disjointed at the back.
The team did, however, open their account when Tebogo Masombuka beat the ‘keeper with a well-taken volley in the 22nd minute.
After taking the lead, they started defending and allowed their opponents to come back into the game.
In the dying minutes of the first half, they equalised through Motsibe Phagama. It was 1-1 at the interval.
The second half was marred by protests from both sides, accusing each other of fielding cup tied players.
Sedibeng Centre FC missed a golden opportunity to win the game in the 87th minute.
The team was awarded a penalty when their opponents’ defender handled the ball in the penalty area,, but Linda Mathebula ballooned the ball over the posts from the penalty mark.
The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
