Land claimants to receive report

The Tembisa Land Claims Forum is inviting land claimants who were forcefully removed through Apartheid laws, and relocated to townships, to attend a special general meeting.

The Tembisa Land Claims Forum is inviting land claimants who were forcefully removed through Apartheid laws, and relocated to townships, to attend a special general meeting.

Officials from the Land Claims Commission in Pretoria will address those who attend.

The meeting will be held at Tshepisa Primary School on February 14 and will start at 9am.

According to the secretary of the forum, Mr Godfrey Thobejane, the purpose of the meeting is to inform claimants about the process of land restitution, and the progress made so far.

Officials would also like to hear about difficulties encountered by claimants during the lodgement process.

“The forum is encouraging people who have not lodged land claims to attend the meeting to hear about the requirements of the lodging process, rather than being misinformed by unscrupulous people,” he said.

For more information, contact Mr Thobejane on 072 203 7776, Mr Amos Skosana on 073 895 2875 or Mr Buta on 076 203 7776.
