Church attendees receive karate certificates
Sensei Cass Sethloho displayed his skill when he sparred with two karatekas at the Terbanacle Church of God in Ivory Park recently.
Born again Christians looked on in amazement when Sehloho, who is a former principal of Inqgayizivbele Secondary School, broke planks and tiles with his bare hands.
Christians received their certificates in karate, and also showed their mettle during sparing.
Bishop Stanley Mathews’s wife, Sharon, was one of the recipients.
Addressing members of the church and community representatives, Sensei Sehloho, who is a fifth dan, said the recipients started attending karate classes last year and were assessed after a period of four months.
He said after passing their examinations, they were given certificates.
He said the classes were about practical skills and the zeal to succeed. He said the certificates came from Malcolm Dorfman, who is based in Parktown.
Two youngsters, Masego Zondo (6) and Ria Mabusela, performed admirably during the course.
