Man seriously injured after hitting bridge pillar on highway

Paramedics treated the injured man at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital.

A man was seriously injured on the N4 near the R25 Bronkhorstspruit Road on Saturday afternoon when his car hit the pillar of a bridge.

Chris Botha from Netcare 911 said a report from the scene indicated that the vehicle was travelling towards Bronkhorstspruit when a vehicle collided with it and sped off, The injured man’s vehicle then veered off the road and collided with the pillar.

 

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the crumpled remains of the vehicle in the centre median with accident debris spread over a large area, obstructing the fast lane.
