FIVE Kempton schools took part in an anti-drug campaign at Maranatha School’s rugby field on Saturday.
Twenty learners, 10 girls and 10 boys, ran a 50km relay run with each pupil doing 2,5km. Resident Michael Rautenbach did 100km on a treadmill on behalf of Modderbee Correctional Services, who were involved in the project organised by Luthemba Lethu Community Project (LLCP).
Inmates of the prison gave a talk to learners at schools around Kempton Park the whole of last week on the dangers of crime and drug use.
The schools involved included Maranatha Christian School, Jeugland, Hoƫrskool Kempton Park, Norkem Park High School, Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld, Hoƫrskool Birchleigh and Rhodesfield Technical High School.
