HAIR salon? Not quite.
Kempton Park SAPS have arrested a Nigerian national and owner of Prince Hair Salon on a number of charges, including possession of illicit goods.
The 34-year-old man allegedly used his West Street salon as a cover to hide his other dodgy businesses.
According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesman for the police, members of the crime prevention unit were patrolling the CBD on February 27 when they received a tip-off at about noon about a salon selling drugs and illegal goods.
“Upon searching the premises, the police officers found illicit alcohol, some in powder form in sachets and the other in liquid form in green bottles,” Mtshali said.
Police also found illegal cigarettes and second hand goods such as digital cameras and cell phones which he was selling. Marijuana was also found in the store room.
The Nigerian suspect’s charges include possession of illicit goods and the violation of the second hand goods law.
