TWICE in two months, when Adriano Pizzini had family over to visit him in his Glen Marais home, he was faced with a blocked drain and sewage covering his back yard.
“It’s a health hazard for both my kids and dogs and it happens when I have family coming over,” a frustrated Pizzini said.
The first time it happened in January, Pizzini said municipal workers had responded hastily.
Metro spokesman, Themba Gadebe, said all the reported blockages had been attended to within reasonable time frames.
“Officials noticed roots every time they removed rods when unblocking the line. It was also noticed there was a challenge with the connection pipe at the house, which was also contributing to the blockages,” he explained.
“At the moment the sewer line is flowing and the sweeping team attended to the connection line on site for preventative maintenance on the main sewer line and repairs on the connection.”
