Two men killed as car crashes into concrete barrier

Two men in their 50s were killed on Sunday afternoon when their vehicle drove down an embankment and into a concrete barrier off Puffontein Road in Benoni.

Russel Meiring of ER24 said paramedics found the vehicle down a small embankment, smashed against a number of concrete barriers. The bodies of both men, who died on impact, were found in the front seats.

A female passenger in her thirties was found sitting in the back of the vehicle with minor injuries.

The patient was carefully removed from the vehicle, treated for her injuries and transported to Sunshine Hospital for further observations.

It is understood that the vehicle had crossed over a T-junction, down the embankment and into the barriers.
