BAGS of material that had been dumped next to a collapsed storm water drain in March, were still on site on Wednesday.
The storm water drain, situated in Kempton’s CBD at the corner of Jubilee Street and Oak Avenue, has still not been repaired.
The dumped bags of tar were first reported to EXPRESS by DA ward councillors Jaco Terblanche and Tracy Butler in February, who stated they had found about six bags of material left on the street next to the drain.

At the time, it had already been several weeks since the bags had been left there.
According to a business owner on Oak Avenue, the drain has been damaged since mid-2014 and no repairs have been done.
Terblanche said the damaged drain was reported to Ekurhuleni Metro in November last year.
On Wednesday, the 5 kg bags were still at the collapsed drain, with tar spilling out of some of the bags.
At the time of going to print, EXPRESS was still waiting for a response from the metro, which was sent in March.
