THE luckiest people in Kempton Park must be those living in a certain section in Norkem Park.
Why? They never get load shedding.
A Kempton Express reader, who lives in Glen Marais, has a friend in Norkem Park, and she noticed that although Glen Marais and Norkem Park fall in the same load shedding group, her friend hardly ever experienced blackouts.
Themba Gadebe, metro spokesman, said part of Norkem Park was temporarily not affected as they shared the same circuit with the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s strategic IT network route between Tembisa and the rest of the metro.
“The whole of Tembisa loses network connectivity if the circuit is shed, meaning the Tembisa pre-paid metering systems cannot process payments during those times. These are temporary arrangements while a permanent solution is being investigated,” he said.
New load shedding schedules will soon be communicated to ensure all customers can easily relate to the schedules.
