Man apprehended for possession of illegal firearm, ammunition

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Difateng section on May 17 for possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Constable Zukiswa Mgijima, said officers were patrolling the area when they noticed two suspicious men under the bridge and approached them.

“Officers asked to search them and found one man in possession of live ammunition and an illegal firearm. The suspect was arrested and detained in Tembisa police cells. I am very happy with the arrest. We urge the community to hand in illegal firearms to the local police station,”said Const the illegal firearms to the police station,” said Const Mgijima.
