EMM comments on pothole complaints

The complaint in question was not reported accordingly since it could not be located on the EMIS (complaints) system.

The DA’s ward 8 PR councillor, Clr Ruth Shabalala (Potholes a threat to motorists) , is concerned about the number of potholes in Tembisa.

Clr Shabalala said Tembisa has become a forgotten place in terms of service delivery from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM).

“Potholes in the area pose a serious risk to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike. The roads become virtual death-traps at night,” she said.

The EMM’s spokesperson, Mr Themba Gadebe, said the complaint was not reported accordingly since it could not be located on the EMIS (complaints) system.

“Arrangements are being made to attend to the matter at Mampuru Street and this includes the rehabilitation of roads, which includes surface patching, overlay, road markings and the replacing of road signs. The final details of the project will be completed on or before August 30,” he said.
