Another mugging at Gautrain station

Surely there is something that can be done to stop criminal activities around the Rhodesfield station.

A regular Gautrain-user was mugged at gunpoint at the Rhodesfield Gautrain station on July 16 at 7pm.

According to his wife, who wants to stay anonymous, her husband’s work laptop was stolen.

The incident happened as he left the station premises through the bottom gate. The mugger was walking behind him.

“He wanted my husband’s cellphone and wallet which he did not have on him due to all the crime in the area. The man told my husband that if he found his wallet he would shoot him,” she said.

“Surely there is something that can be done to stop these people before someone gets killed for a cellphone or laptop. We have two children and my youngest was in tears, so scared that she could lose her daddy.

“The police need to sort this out now before it’s too late. Does someone have to be killed for them to sit up and take notice?”
