ONE passenger has been shot and killed at Sangweni Taxi Rank in Tembisa this morning following taxi violence, while a few other injured passengers were rushed to hospital.
The taxi rank has been closed and all taxis are loading passengers outside the rank.
Norkem Park SAPS acting spokesman, W/O Mahlodi Langa, who is on the scene, confirmed the incident but did not confirm whether the passenger was male or female. However, a witness on the scene told EXPRESS it was a woman.
The woman’s body was said to still be on the scene. The witness described the atmosphere as chaotic and tense following the shooting.
There is a strong police presence and the forensics unit is on the scene.
