A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his girlfriend, in Ivory Park, Extension 2.
The incident happened at about 2pm on Sunday last week.
It is believed the couple comes from the Eastern Cape.
The Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said it is believed the couple had a heated argument.
“The woman ended up grabbing a knife which was in the kitchen and stabbed the man. He died at the scene. A case of murder was opened,” she said.
W/O Sekgobela said the suspect was arrested and detained at the Ivory Park SAPS.
The Ivory Park SAPS management is appealing to members of the community to report domestic violence issues at the station’s Victim Empowerment Centre, where these matters are treated as confidential and seriously.
